IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
We would like to take a moment to update you on some changes we are implementing within our organisation.
As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best care possible for donkeys in need, we have undertaken a comprehensive review of our activities in Cyprus.
This review has led us to make a difficult decision – we will no longer be offering adoptions from within Cyprus. Please rest assured that this decision was not taken lightly. It comes from a deep desire to ensure that our team can better use their time and resources to provide the very best care to the donkeys at our sanctuary, and save costs that can be used to help more donkeys worldwide.
Please note, if you have an adopted donkey in Cyprus, you will continue to receive updates about your donkey friend up to the date of your renewal, at which point we will write to you again.
Similarly, after a review, we found our online shop isn't generating sufficient income to cover maintenance costs. Upgrading the online shop to a newer version comes with significant expenses. This is why we have decided to merge our Cyprus store into one single online shop by joining our parent charity in the UK. While it may be challenging for us to make this change, the money we save will benefit our donkeys in Cyprus.
Despite these changes, your support remains invaluable to us and we are so grateful for your kindness and generosity. If you would like to continue supporting our mission, you can do so by adopting a donkey in the UK through our Adopt a Donkey programme . There is a UK team fully set up to help you find a new donkey friend and provide you with regular updates on their latest adventures.
Alternatively, you may wish to continue supporting donkeys by making a donation directly to the Donkey Sanctuary Cyprus . Your support in any form, no matter where you are, will make a tremendous difference to the donkeys under our care.
