Equine veterinary facilities are somewhat limited in Cyprus and it can be difficult for professionals to gain experience in equine health problems, particularly concerning donkeys. For some time now we have been working on building a good relationship with Government Veterinary Departments. Each district has its own small group of Ministry Vets and Animal Inspectors as well as private vets.

What we are hoping to do is to organise seminars in each of districts and provide veterinary information on general donkey health and some of the problems that donkeys can have. Also we are endeavouring to be able to provide literature to each vet and Animal Inspector who attends these seminars as well as our contact details and that of our attending vet.

By doing so, this will increase awareness and improve the health of donkeys on the island. We are hoping to raise funds so that we can start the seminars next year.
