Lonnie, one of our Adoption Donkeys, was a bit poorly in February. The grooms noticed he was very quiet early in the morning and not interested in eating his breakfast - not like Lonnie! After checking his pulse, temperature and respiration (which weren't what they were supposed to be), the vet was called immediately. Colic was ruled out and blood tests were taken which showed hat he had a minor infection.

Thanks to the fact that we have been able to provide a blood analysis machine to our vet, the results came back very quickly. A course of antibiotics and extra vitamins and minerals were started the same day and he was soon feeling better and back to his usual self. Lonnie was such a brave chap having his daily injections although we suspect he enjoyed the extra TLC he got! He's also becoming a very popular Adoption Donkey so we have to be careful all this attention doesn't go to his head!
