Super fundraisers
This summer seems to have been very hectic and the time has flown by. We have had several visits from a variety of people including three from some special fundraisers.
The first was from a group of youngsters from the Amelia Trust, South Wales. The Trust has Donkey Sanctuary foster donkeys as well as a multitude of other animals and is an educational centre for young people who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to attend mainstream school. Ann Slater, Senior Youth Worker, organised a large number of events to raise an amazing £4,500 to pay for their week long trip to Cyprus and, on top of that, over £300 as a donation for us here. The teenagers were an amazing help and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Their donkey knowledge and skills were excellent and this is thanks to Lizzie Ellis, South Wales Area Welfare Officer, as she is their trainer and mentor. We would love to have them all back again - we learnt a lot from each other.

We then had another donation from Graham and Christine Smith who are the parents of UK GMTV's Penny Smith and live in Cyprus. Graham celebrated his 80th birthday a few months ago, loves donkeys and decided to make his birthday party a fundraising event for us. He and Christine came up to Vouni to present us with over €300! They keep in contact with us and said that their daughter will come and visit us when she is next out here.
