Lonnie

Lonnie

Lonnie came to the Sanctuary in 2004 from a small village called Alona high up in the Troodos Mountains. His owner's wife had unfortunately died and he was not able to look after the donkey that was rather boisterous. The journey to collect Lonnie was a little treacherous as there was still quite a lot of snow on the mountains and sheer drops at the edge of the track. Although Lonnie had never been in a horse trailer before he was the perfect traveller. Not long after arriving at the Sanctuary he became best friends with one of the other donkeys called Olive who can often be seen following him around. Still a cheeky chap, he is extremely nosy and definitely enjoys his cuddles!
